PERSISTENCE RESISTANCE FESTIVAL SCHEDULE

A Matter of Applause

When a show is over, you clap. Duration, intensity and manner provide some variation, explains Kewal Arora, with whistling being reserved for in-house audiences of friends and colleagues. The end result is pretty much always the same: as the house lights go up, you clap. The applause may well be tepid and mechanical; it may even be somewhat forced when performances are of indifferent quality, but you still clap.Read More...

Liberal Education in Arts, Sciences and Humanities:

After rocking to a completely different kind of ‘fever’ – the General Elections – for the past few weeks, Delhi audiences are keen to unwind with something lighter and not so serious as political mayhem says B.B. Nagpal. Aptly timed, the French guitar hero Louis Bertignac and his band, Live Power Trio, are all set to help the young and the young-at-heart unleash their energies in a rock concert sans heavy metal.  Read More...

Why Do Dishonest Men Thrive Sometimes?

We have often seen a dishonest man thriving and honest man   losing.    We then   get   perplexed.  But let it be clear, that under such circumstances the dishonest man flourishes for his ability and skill and never for his dishonesty, while the honest man loses not for his professing honesty but for his incapacity, inefficiency and general weakness.  (Continuing serializing the Late Shri Kimatrai Baharmal  Khushalani’s  essay UTILITY OF HONESTY IN TRADE. This essay was awarded a Gold Medal in 1934. Readers will find that the essay is as relevant today as it was then).   Read More...
